The numbers are rising

NAPA - Act Now Button(alz.org press release)

Every 68 seconds someone in America develops Alzheimer’s.

In that same amount of time our nation spends an estimated $431,000 caring for those with the disease, totaling $200 billion in 2012 alone.

So, what can you do in 68 seconds?

Sign the alz.org petition to the President calling for a clear federal commitment to change the course of Alzheimer's disease.

Over 176,000 advocates like you have already signed, putting us within reach of our goal of 250,000.

Even before hitting our goal our efforts are already making an impact. Following the launch of our petition the Obama Administration committed $156 million in new funding for Alzheimer’s research, care, and support. And a draft National Alzheimer's Plan, released a few weeks later, is an important step forward.

This progress is due to the unwavering support of you and the hundreds of thousands of Alzheimer’s advocates. You are making the case that the human and economic costs of Alzheimer’s are devastating and the fight to end Alzheimer’s can’t wait.

But we can't let up now. The Administration can still strengthen the draft National Alzheimer's Plan in areas like research, clinical care and community services. So urge the President to take the next bold step forward in the fight against Alzheimer’s by issuing a strong National Alzheimer's Plan.
